Mixed practice set
Thirty new questions from all seven areas, mixed the way the Final Weighted Exam mixes them, about half with an exhibit to read. Do the set in one sitting, then review every miss against the chapter its explanation names.
What you'll learn
- Answer 30 mixed questions from all seven topic areas at the exam's pace.
- Read show output, captures and ladders under time pressure.
- Trace every miss back to the chapter that teaches it, and close the gap before the exam.
How to use this set
This is a practice paper of 30 questions from all seven areas, mixed together the way the Final Weighted Exam mixes them. None of them comes from the exam itself: every scenario is new, and every show output was captured from the simulator.
Do the set in one sitting: 30 items in about 50 minutes, which is the exam's own pace of 105 minutes for 60 questions. Answer every item before you read any explanation, and note the ones you guessed, so that a lucky guess still counts as a miss.
Then review every miss and every guess. Each explanation names the chapter that teaches the deciding fact: reread that section, rebuild any exhibit you misread in the lab, and only then move on.
Where the questions come from
The set follows the exam's mix. Each area gets about its share of the 30 items, so Building the LAN has the most and Automating the Network the fewest, and about half of the items carry an exhibit, a little more than the two in five on a real paper. When you mark the set, count your score in each area separately, the way your results page will.
| Area | Module | Items in this set |
|---|---|---|
| How Networks Work | 1 | 4 |
| Addresses and Subnets | 2 | 4 |
| Routing Between Networks | 3 | 5 |
| Building the LAN | 4 | 6 |
| Running the Network | 5 | 4 |
| Securing the Network | 6 | 4 |
| Automating the Network | 7 | 3 |
